Story

As a car lover, I appreciate the BMW brand. There cars are engineered to be enjoyed and there is a reason they are called the “Ultimate Driving Machine.” I drove my first ZHP version of the E46 330i and absolutely understood why they have that standard to live up to. Years later in 2010, while traveling to Germany, my friend and I arranged a visit to their plant in Munich. This piece “Kidney grill” reflect more of the more modern BMW grille.

When I started, I got excited to create and didn’t quite center the grill directly in the center of the piece. As I was painting the initial colors, I was reminiscent of a couple colors (Teal and Blue) represented in the M Sport badge. I ended up connecting the love of BMWs in an ever so subtle abstract yellow heart reminiscent of the E36 M3 Dakar yellow. Yes, I’m a fan…and I guess there is a deep love for BMW…my favorite is the E46 M3 in Interlagos Blue with the Competition Package in a manual. When the light hits the piece right, you can see the thickness of the kidney grill peeking through the piece. Happy driving ahead.

In joy,
